The project consists of the construction of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of settlements Karteros and the Inn of Kokkini -Βαθειανός Campos of the Municipality of Hersonissos, as well as projects for the disposal of treated wastewater.

The construction of the WWTP will be in the range of 22.5 acres, south of the settlement of the Trough, at a distance from the settlements of the Trough and the Inn of Kokkini – Βαθειανός Campos approximately 700 m. and 1.700 m. respectively. The distance of the WWTP from the adjacent stream, which is defined as the recipient is approximately 300 m.

Deliverables project

The project deliverables include the following:

the preparation of the Final Study, the Study of Application and any kind of additional study and research may be required
the construction of Civil Engineering projects
the construction of a road within the WWTP
the construction of the pipeline disposal of treated fluid
the supply and installation of all electrical and mechanical equipment
the trial mode for a period of six (6) months from the certificate of completion of the work
the maintenance of the project up to the date of Final acceptance

Objectives - Benefits

The objectives are to be achieved by the completion of the project is expected to be the protection of the aquatic environment(surface and underground waters, marine waters) by urban pollution, prevent the formation of foci of infection and the controlled disposal of effluent to the surrounding natural recipients.

In addition, you will achieve aesthetic enhancement of the natural environment, the improvement of hygiene conditions and, therefore, the avoidance of expression of the spread of epidemic diseases. At the same time, you will be given the option of balanced regional development, while the conditions for waste management and environmental protection, as defined by the existing community and national law.

It should also be stressed that in the area developed a strong holiday and tourist activity, so put more strongly the necessity of solving the problem of sanitation.

The intended beneficiary population peak 20-year-old reaches 9.929 equivalent inhabitants.
